In the Islamabad High Court, a hearing was held on the application related to repatriation and health of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan heard the case. The Attorney General has assured the support of Dr. Fawzia Siddiqui in appealing to the President of the United States for mercy to bring Dr. Aafia Siddiqui back home.
The Attorney General said that Dr. Fawzia, who will appeal for mercy, will be supported and the government of Pakistan will also request the release of the American government. Additional Attorney General said that the court has given time for three weeks and the prisoner transfer agreement will be done in three weeks between Pakistan and the United States.
The Attorney General said that the Prime Minister is going to the UN General Assembly meeting, the Embassy of Pakistan in America is helping. Of course, it is a sad story. I am personally looking into this case. I also discussed this with the Prime Minister. I will ask the Prime Minister to meet and talk to the US officials.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq remarked that writing your letter and the ambassador going there is not a big support.The purpose of all this activity is to bring Dr. Aafia Siddiqui back to Pakistan
On the order of the court, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan and Additional Attorney General appeared in the court. Dr Fauzia Siddiqui's lawyer Imran Shafiq also appeared in court. . The court adjourned the case till the second week of October.
